Rack servers and other hardware designed to be rack mounted are manufactured in multiples of 1 75 inches and specified in multiples of rack units usually 1u 2u 3u or 4u. The standard rack at 19 inches is 42u.

For example a 9u rack has a width of 19 inches for a standard rack and a height of 15 75 inches 1 75 multiplied by 9. 100 is considered to be at plate rating or the maximum load that it can generate. Racks are designed to hold equipment of those sizes. 1u 2u 3u and so on.

The vertical inches are on the facial area of the server rack chassis. So you would divide 13 903 ft 2 by 16 ft 2 which equals about 869 racks which equals the maximum number of racks you can fit into the facility.
